Decision Verdicts

A decision that does not have a verdict is not helpful to the growth of the Organization. Successful Entrepreneurs often say "If you are going to fail, fail fast". To make a fast decision, it requires a verdict. Whether that is to proceed or not to proceed, the evaluation is at least complete. You can sometimes learn a lot from the decisions that are rejected. You should log these insights in the Lessons Learnt module of Decise.

Decisions in Decise encourage the Organization to make a verdict.- Accept or Reject. Sure, the platform doesn't force you to, decisions you create can sit in the Decision List without ever progressing much i.e. they can remain there without a verdict. However, as you can tell, at Decise we focus on better decisions. Don't be afraid to reject decisions. It is sometimes better to formally do that, than keeping them 'undecided' in your decision pipeline. Remember you can alway revisit and clone rejected decisions at a later stage.

Up to 3 Tiers of Approvals

All Organizations have different decision making 'delegated authorities' and 'approval processes'.

At Decise, there are up to 3 levels of Approvers built into every decision. The minimum is 1 Approver, as again someone should be accountable for making a verdict.

It is your choice how many Approvers you choose to use on any decision.

Adding Approvers to a Decision

All decisions have the icons shown to the right.

The last 3 People icons with a "1", "2" and "3" on their chest, is where you assign Approvers to a decision.

Simply tick the name of the Approver for each of the respective Approver Spot (1, 2 or 3).

People must be assigned an 'Approver' Decise Role first, in order to appear in this list.

Multiple Approvers can be assigned to an Approver Spot. Decise operates in a First-In-First-Opted (FIFO) basis. Whichever of the multiple approvers assigned to that Approver Spot 1 makes their verdict first, triggers the next step in the Workflow.

Removing Approvers from a Decision

To remove an Approver from a Decision, simply untick their name from the Approver Spot.

Making a Decision Verdict

An Approver can make their verdict in a Decision by simply changing the status of the Decision.

An Approver will only be prompted to make this verdict when it is their 'turn'.

When multiple Approvers are assigned the verdict will happen in a First-In-First-Opted (FIFO) way.

Last Approver

The last Approver has the final say of the decision. Where only 1 Approver was assigned to the decision, they are also the "Last" Approver.

The Status options available to the last Approver are shown on the right.

Completing a Decision

An "Accepted" decision means that your Organization has chosen to proceed with the decision,

This does not automatically mean that this Approved Decision progressed to the point it was implemented.

Business is dynamic, things shift all the time. Many projects that were approved never saw the light of day, for various reasons. Decise does not want that to be a mystery anymore. The platform encourages you to keep track of your completion stats. Implementation of a good decision is so vital in scaling the Organization.

Once your Organization has the data as to whether the Approved Decision was executed or not, that Status can be reflected in the platform. If the decision was implemented, the Approver would press "Complete". If the decision was stopped or cancelled, and therefore was never executed, the Approver would press "Cancel"

The Home Overview page counts the number of decisions Implemented and Cancelled, as well as the Total Decisions. This allows you to work out your execution rates.

Successful Implementation Rate

An Approved decision can be implemented, however it does not automatically mean it was executed successfully.

Your Organization can define what "successful" means to you, however the Decise Platform is quite explicit in enabling you to define this also within the Question Sets.

When an Approver presses Complete in the status of a decision, they will be prompted with a question asking if it obtained a successful outcome or not.

The response to this question is the data that is used to calculate your Organization's Implementation Success Rate.

Enhance the growth of the Organization by focusing on improving your implementation success rate.
